What's included
A paper budget system you can see all month: plan it, log it, review it.
Most people don't have a math problem. They have a visibility problem: the spending is invisible until the statement arrives, and by then it's a report, not a decision. The Budget Kit puts your whole financial picture on paper, in the same notebook as your goals and your to-do list.
Pre-order: this kit ships about December 10, 2026. Free shipping on US orders of $75 or more.
Everything you need to start
A Monthly Budget page plans the month before it begins. A Weekly Budget Tracker catches each purchase while you can still feel it. A Project Tracker page turns each money goal into dated steps, Don't Break the Chain grids keep the daily habits underneath visible, and the 2027/2028 calendar holds paydays, renewals and due dates. Dividers, sticky flags and clear pockets give receipts and bills a home, and dotted pages are there for the savings chart or debt-payoff ladder you invent yourself.
A setup you can customize over time
Every page except the calendar is undated, so you start on any day of any month, and a chaotic fortnight costs you nothing. Pages lift off the discs: when a month ends, take it off, put next month's budget on top and file the finished set. Everything in the kit is also a regular store refill, so you can add more weekly trackers or goal sheets whenever you run low.
The system behind the pages
Money plans kept apart from life plans tend to fail quietly: nothing goes wrong, the budget just stops being opened. Your Perfect Notebook already includes the Big Blocks Dashboard, so the money goal sits beside your other goals instead of outranking them. The Daily Task Manager turns "transfer the $50" or "cancel the subscription nobody uses" into a task with a day on it, and the Reflection Page closes each month: what was planned, what was spent, and why they differ.
Why the kit, and not just the notebook
- It fixes visibility, not willpower. Writing a purchase down takes five seconds, and that pause between wanting something and buying it is the point. A statement only tells you afterwards.
- The plan and the week are built as a pair. The Monthly Budget is the plan; the Weekly Budget Tracker shows what is left while the week can still change.
- Money sits next to the rest of your life. Budget, goals and today's tasks live in one book, instead of a budget in one app, goals in a notebook and a to-do list on a phone that never meet.
- Receipts, bills and renewals have an address. Pockets for paper, dividers for sections and sticky flags for this week's bill to query mean fewer papers in a drawer and a vague sense of dread.
- No account, no export, no subscription. When the month is over, the notebook still has it.

A week with the Budget Kit
- Payday or the 1st (20 minutes). Fill in the Monthly Budget: income, fixed bills with due dates, variable categories and the savings goal. Copy every due date onto the calendar.
- Every purchase. Write what, category and amount on the Weekly Budget Tracker the same day. Drop the receipt in a pocket.
- Mid-week. Read the Left box. It tells you on Wednesday what a banking app only tells you at month end.
- Sunday (15 minutes). Total the tracker, tick off the bills paid, empty the receipts pocket and set up next week's pages.
- Month end. Fill in the Reflection Page with the budget open beside it, then set next month's budget with what you learned.
Who it is for, and who it is not for
It is for
- Freelancers and anyone with an irregular income, where a month has to be planned rather than assumed.
- Couples who want the numbers on the table between them instead of in one person's head.
- Anyone paying down a card or loan who wants to watch the balance fall.
- People who earn well and still don't know where it goes.
- Anyone who tried a budgeting app, felt organized for a week, and drifted.
It is probably not for
- If you want automatic bank syncing and charts that update themselves, an app does that. This kit is for people who want to write money down.
- The pages arrive ready to use, but you arrange them on the discs yourself. If you want a notebook that is already assembled, this is not that.
Made to be used, and refilled
The Perfect Notebook is a B5 notebook on cream 90gsm paper that is friendly to fountain pens, with rounded corners and 11 aircraft-grade aluminum discs. Pages lift off the discs and go back on, so the book is something you keep and refill rather than finish and throw away.
A gift for someone you care about
A practical gift for someone who has said they want to get on top of their money: a first apartment, a new job, a couple combining finances. It is a complete system, so there is nothing else to buy to start.
Made for people who would rather write money down
The Budget Kit is for anyone whose money feels like something that happens to them: the pay that evaporates, the statement that always surprises, the savings goal that never quite starts.

Questions
Does it connect to my bank?
No. It is paper, and that is the design: writing a number by hand is slower on purpose.
Do I need to use every page?
No. Start with the Monthly Budget and the Weekly Budget Tracker. Add the Project Tracker and Don't Break the Chain sheets when you are ready.
Can two people share it?
Yes. A 15-minute review together with the page between you keeps the conversation about the numbers.
When will it ship?
About December 10, 2026. If your order also contains in-stock items, the whole order is held and shipped together.
Can I return it?
Yes, within 90 days. Unused products can be exchanged, and refunds are issued within 30 days of receiving the return.
This kit is a planning and record-keeping tool. It is not financial advice.
Paper & Discs
Cream 90gsm paper, disc-bound spine — add, remove and rearrange every page anytime. When a section fills up, refills keep the same notebook going for years.

Good to know
If you want automatic bank syncing and charts that update themselves, an app does that. This kit is for people who want to write money down. The pages arrive ready to use, but you arrange them on the discs yourself. If you want a notebook that is already assembled, this is not that.
How to use it
A simple routine to start with.
Once a month
Open the Monthly Budget page. Fill in income, fixed costs, variable costs and savings goals. Put paydays and due dates on the calendar.
Every day
Write each purchase on the Weekly Budget Tracker when you make it. Drop the receipt in a pocket. The slowness is the point: the pause between wanting something and buying it is where the habit changes.
Once a week
Look at budget, spent and left. Move a sticky-note flag to anything that needs a decision this week.
At month end
Total up the Monthly Budget, note what surprised you on a ruled page, and set next month's page.
How to arrange it when it arrives
Build it yourself when it arrives — front to back. Nothing is fixed; the discs let you reorder anytime.
1. 2027/2028 Monthly Calendar
The current month at the front, so dates are the first thing you see.
2. Big Blocks Dashboard
Already in your notebook. Your goals for the current two-week cycle, with the Reflection Page on the back.
3. Monthly Budget pages
Start every month here. This is the plan every other page answers to.
4. Weekly Budget Tracker pages
Where the plan meets reality, one purchase at a time.
5. Project Tracker pages
A $4,000 debt is not one task. It is a sequence of dated transfers, and this page lays them out.
6. Goal Tracking pages
Habits like "log every purchase" get a row of boxes. The chain becomes visible.
7. Daily Task Manager pages
Already in your notebook. One page per day, with a Big Block step at the top.
8. Ruled pages refill (40 sheets)
Toward the back: keeps the working-out (calls with the bank, quotes you are comparing) off the clean budget page.
9. Dotted pages refill (40 sheets)
Toward the back: room for a savings thermometer, a debt-payoff chart or a subscription list.
10. Plastic index dividers (5 tabs)
Put a tab in front of each section so you can open straight to it.
11. Sticky notes (rectangular and arrow shapes)
Flags for the bill to query or the subscription you are cancelling this week. They move; the dividers don't.
12. Clear pockets at the back
Receipts and loose papers go here. Empty them when you plan the week.
The system behind the pages
What you start with
A Monthly Budget page plans the month before it begins.
The method already in your notebook
Money plans kept apart from life plans tend to fail quietly: nothing goes wrong, the budget just stops being opened. Your Perfect Notebook already includes the Big Blocks Dashboard, so the money goal sits beside your other goals instead of outranking them. The Daily Task Manager turns "transfer the $50" or "cancel the subscription nobody uses" into a task with a day on it, and the Reflection Page closes each month: what was planned, what was spent, and why they differ.
A setup you can customize
Every page except the calendar is undated, so you start on any day of any month, and a chaotic fortnight costs you nothing. Pages lift off the discs: when a month ends, take it off, put next month's budget on top and file the finished set. Everything in the kit is also a regular store refill, so you can add more weekly trackers or goal sheets whenever you run low.
The Icons Method — how progress tracking works
Every Big Block category has its own symbol — the sword in the stone for professional goals, the pinwheel for fun & recreation, the heart for relationships, the racket for body time, the sprout for personal growth, and the crossed tools for skill building. They appear in two places: at the top of every Daily Task Manager page, and in rows of ten under every goal on the Big Blocks Dashboard.
Step 1 — the daily page
In the morning, circle the icons of the one or two goals you really want to advance today — not all six. That circle is a commitment. Then, during the day, colour the icon the moment you finish the step — the small, immediate reward for a step actually taken.
Step 2 — the dashboard
Colour one icon in the row under the matching goal for each real step you took — only on the day you did it, never from memory. The empty icons are the point: three empty icons mean three days you did nothing on that subject. That's information, not decoration.
Reading the rows
Rows that fill quickly show where your energy naturally flows. Rows that stay empty are the method's most valuable output — a mid-cycle signal while there's still time to act. Ten is not the target; it's room to grow. See the full icon language →
