What's included
One notebook for their care, the paperwork, and the life you still have.
Caring for a parent arrives without a handover. One week you are their child; the next you are also their administrator, driver and appointments secretary, and nobody gives you a system. The Caregiver Kit is that system on paper, with a page of your own kept in the same book.
Pre-order: this kit ships about December 10, 2026. Free shipping on US orders of $75 or more.
Everything you need to start
A Meeting Summary page for every conversation with a professional, daily pages that show the shape of a day set by other people, and a 2027/2028 calendar for reviews and appointments. Project Tracker pages follow the assessments and claims that can stall silently, budget sheets track what caring actually costs, and a Brain Dump page gets everything out of your head and into sorted lists. Dividers give each person or topic its own section, and clear pockets hold appointment cards and receipts.
A setup you can customize over time
Every page except the calendar is undated, so you start on any day of any month, and a fortnight lost to a hospital admission costs you nothing but a gap. Pages lift off the discs, so you can hand a sibling a copy of a Meeting Summary or take one section to an appointment and leave the rest at home. Add more of any page type from the store as your needs change.
The system behind the pages
The most common thing that goes wrong in a caring year is not a missed appointment. It is that the carer's own goals, friendships and health quietly disappear, one reasonable postponement at a time. The Big Blocks Dashboard that comes with your Perfect Notebook gives your own goals a place beside the caring tasks, the Daily Task Manager puts one step of your own at the top of each day, and the Reflection Page lets you look back at the fortnight honestly, including the weeks that went to a crisis.
Why the kit, and not just the notebook
- Conversations get a structure. A Meeting Summary page asks who was there, what was said, what was agreed, and the last question: what happens next, and who is doing it? Write the answer with a name in it.
- You become the continuity. The consultant changes, the social worker changes, the agency changes its staff. You are the one who has been at every appointment, and a written record is what carries that.
- Your own life stays in the book. The daily pages, Brain Dump and Don't Break the Chain grids give your own routines a place next to the tasks you coordinate for someone else.
- The money and the paperwork are covered. Budget pages, a Project Tracker and pockets for receipts and appointment cards are already in the kit, so there is nothing to hunt for.
- A page you can share. A photo of a Meeting Summary sent to a sibling replaces two different memories with one written record.

A week with the Caregiver Kit
- Right after a conversation. Fill in a Meeting Summary before you leave the car park, while it is exact: who, what was said, what was agreed, what happens next and who is doing it.
- The night before. Put visits and transport windows onto the Daily Calendar, then one Big Block step of your own at the top of the task page.
- Whenever your head is full. Do a Brain Dump, then sort it into To Do, Ideas, Remember and Follow Up. You do not have to hold the list.
- Sunday (20 minutes). Set next week's pages, empty the pockets, log what you spent, tick the chain and read the Blockers box on your Project Trackers. Chase one.
- Every other week. Close the fortnight with the Reflection Page. Be honest about the weeks that went to a crisis: that is information, not failure.
Who it is for, and who it is not for
It is for
- The adult child who has become the person who sorts it out, often the nearest sibling, often without anyone deciding it out loud.
- Anyone coordinating appointments, paperwork and visits for a parent, partner or child alongside a job and a household.
- People who have to relay the same information to several relatives or professionals.
- Anyone who wants to keep a part of their own life in the plan.
It is probably not for
- If you want automatic reminders on your phone, this is a paper system. It works best next to one, not instead of it.
Made to be used, and refilled
The Perfect Notebook is a B5 notebook on cream 90gsm paper that is friendly to fountain pens, with rounded corners and 11 aircraft-grade aluminum discs. Pages lift off the discs and go back on, so the book is something you keep and refill rather than finish and throw away.
A gift for someone you care about
A thoughtful gift for someone who is quietly running someone else's care: a system that gives the coordinating work a home, and leaves a page for them.
Made for the person who keeps everything running
The Caregiver Kit is for people managing appointments they did not book and decisions they did not choose, while holding down a job and a household of their own.

Paper & Discs
Cream 90gsm paper, disc-bound spine — add, remove and rearrange every page anytime. When a section fills up, refills keep the same notebook going for years.

Good to know
It is a planning and record-keeping tool. It does not replace professional medical, legal or financial advice. If you want automatic reminders on your phone, this is a paper system. It works best next to one, not instead of it.
How to use it
A simple routine to start with.
After every conversation
Fill in a Meeting Summary page: who was there, what was said, what was agreed, who does what. Put the 'what happens next, and who is doing it?' answer in the action items box.
Each morning
Open the Daily Calendar and Task Manager. Put fixed visits on the calendar side, then add your own time to it, and list the day's tasks by priority.
Once a week
Clear the Brain Dump into To Do, Ideas, Remember and Follow Up. Log the week's expenses. Check the Goal Tracking grid for your own routines.
Once a month
Update the Monthly Budget and the calendar, and move any open project milestones forward.
How to arrange it when it arrives
Build it yourself when it arrives — front to back. Nothing is fixed; the discs let you reorder anytime.

The method already in your notebook

The Icons Method — how progress tracking works
Every Big Block category has its own symbol — the sword in the stone for professional goals, the pinwheel for fun & recreation, the heart for relationships, the racket for body time, the sprout for personal growth, and the crossed tools for skill building. They appear in two places: at the top of every Daily Task Manager page, and in rows of ten under every goal on the Big Blocks Dashboard.
Step 1 — the daily page
In the morning, circle the icons of the one or two goals you really want to advance today — not all six. That circle is a commitment. Then, during the day, colour the icon the moment you finish the step — the small, immediate reward for a step actually taken.
Step 2 — the dashboard
Colour one icon in the row under the matching goal for each real step you took — only on the day you did it, never from memory. The empty icons are the point: three empty icons mean three days you did nothing on that subject. That's information, not decoration.
Reading the rows
Rows that fill quickly show where your energy naturally flows. Rows that stay empty are the method's most valuable output — a mid-cycle signal while there's still time to act. Ten is not the target; it's room to grow. See the full icon language →
