What our customers are saying:

What's inside

Everything in the kit — and what each piece does.

The Perfect Notebook

The Perfect Notebook

The heart of the kit. A B5 disc-bound notebook (6.9″ × 9.8″), with thick cream 90gsm paper that is fountain-pen friendly and 11 aircraft-grade aluminium discs. It opens flat, folds back on itself, and opens a full 360° — which matters when you write or sketch for long stretches.

Big Blocks Dashboards — three options

Big Blocks Dashboards — three options

The page that runs your goal cycle. Choose the combined dashboard, or the Professional and Personal dashboards — printed back to back on the same sheet, with the Reflection Page on its reverse.

Daily Task Manager pages

Daily Task Manager pages

One page per day. Big Block steps at the top — always first — then Priority A and B, People To Call, a Parking Lot for non-urgent tasks, and a Notes box.

Reflection Page

Reflection Page

On the back of the Professional/Personal dashboard. For journalers this is the most natural page in the book: a guided piece of writing that closes every cycle.

Dotted notebook pages refill

Dotted notebook pages refill

The journaler's paper. A subtle dot grid that guides handwriting, tables, trackers and bullet-style layouts — and disappears behind them. Structure when you want it, freedom when you don't.

Blank notebook pages refill

Blank notebook pages refill

Completely open pages for sketching, mind maps, morning pages and free writing. The 90gsm cream paper takes fountain pen, fineliner and light washes without bleed.

Clear plastic pockets — 5 pack

Clear plastic pockets — 5 pack

Punched pockets that snap onto the discs. Ticket stubs, photos, letters, pressed flowers — the physical fragments that belong in a journal finally have an address.

Ruler bookmark set

Ruler bookmark set

Two rulers that travel with you: one marks today, one marks where your journal continues. A straight edge for underlines, dividers and tidy layouts.

Who it's for

The Journaling Kit is for people who write for themselves — morning pages, gratitude lists, sketches, ideas, the diary that keeps a life honest — and who also have goals they want to move. Most people split these across two or three books and lose both. Here they share one spine: the method keeps your days pointed somewhere, and the journal pages catch everything the days stir up. Because every page is undated and movable, there is no “ruined” page and no wasted month: skip a week of journaling and the book simply waits.

How to use it

The method and the journal, together.

The method side

Every two weeks, set a handful of goals on the Big Blocks Dashboard, and act on them through the daily pages. A goal that lives on the page stops consuming your head all day — which is exactly what clears the head for writing.

The journal side

Write whenever you want, as much as you want: a few lines after the daily page is closed, three morning pages before the day starts, a sketch at lunch. The journal section has no rules — the dot grid guides, it never demands.

The bridge between them

The daily page's Notes box catches the day's stray thoughts; the ones worth keeping get a real journal page in the evening. The Parking Lot keeps ideas from interrupting your writing time.

How to arrange it when it arrives

Build it yourself when it arrives — front to back. Nothing is fixed; the discs let you reorder anytime.

1. Big Blocks Dashboard

1. Big Blocks Dashboard

Your goals for the cycle. Pick the combined page, or the professional/personal sheet — the Reflection Page is printed on its back.

2. Daily pages — current cycle

2. Daily pages — current cycle

One per day, behind the dashboard. Your days, planned and prioritised.

3. The journal section — dotted

3. The journal section — dotted

A generous stack. This is where daily writing, trackers and lists live.

4. The sketch section — blank

4. The sketch section — blank

Behind the dotted pages: drawings, mind maps, free writing without any grid.

5. Clear pockets — at the back

5. Clear pockets — at the back

One for keepsakes and fragments, one for things that need action. The rest wait until you need them.

6. Ruler bookmarks

6. Ruler bookmarks

Clip one at today's daily page and one where your journal continues — the notebook opens exactly where you left off, in either life.

The rhythm of a cycle

Closing the loop

When the cycle ends, flip your Professional/Personal Big Blocks Dashboard sheet over — the Reflection Page is on the other side. Fill it in while the cycle is fresh: what moved, what was neglected, and why. Then place a new dashboard on top and set your next goals with what you learned. For a journaler this is familiar ground — it is simply a guided journal entry.

Carry only what you need

Keep the current cycle and your active journal pages in the notebook and archive the rest. Finished journal pages lift off the discs and store flat — that is how one notebook becomes years of journals without ever getting heavier.

The Icons Method — how progress tracking works

Every Big Block category has its own symbol — the sword in the stone for professional goals, the pinwheel for fun & recreation, the heart for relationships, the racket for body time, the sprout for personal growth, and the crossed tools for skill building. They appear in two places: at the top of every Daily Task Manager page, and in rows of ten under every goal on the Big Blocks Dashboard.

Step 1 — the daily page

Step 1 — the daily page

In the morning, circle the icons of the one or two goals you really want to advance today — not all six. That circle is a commitment. Then, during the day, colour the icon the moment you finish the step — wrote your journal pages? Colour the sprout right then. Took the walk? Colour the racket. The small, immediate reward for a step actually taken.

Step 2 — the dashboard

Step 2 — the dashboard

Colour one icon in the row under the matching goal for each real step you took — only on the day you did it, never from memory. The empty icons are the point: three empty icons mean three days you did nothing on that subject. That's information, not decoration.

Reading the rows

Reading the rows

Rows that fill quickly show where your energy naturally flows. Rows that stay empty are the method's most valuable output — a mid-cycle signal while there's still time to act. Ten is not the target; it's room to grow. See the full icon language →

Tips from experienced users

Make journaling a Big Block

If journaling matters to you, put it on the dashboard — “write four times a week” under personal growth. The icons will tell you the truth about whether it happened.

Morning pages before planning

Many users write three pages first thing, before the daily page. The head empties, then the day gets planned — in that order.

Date your entries

Date every journal entry by hand. The pages are undated on purpose — your writing rhythm sets the pace, not the calendar.

Dotted for words, blank for pictures

Dotted pages for daily writing, trackers and lists; blank pages for sketches and the entries that need no lines at all.

Pockets are the journal's inbox

Tickets, photos, a letter worth keeping — into a pocket the day you get them, onto a journal page when you write about them.

Archive and reread

When journal sections fill up, lift them off the discs and store them flat, in order. Twice a year, reading old pages — journal and reflection alike — is worth more than any productivity book.

Use real ink

The 90gsm cream paper takes fountain pen, gel and fineliner without bleed — journaling deserves the pens you love.

Start small

Your first cycle should be modest: two or three goals, not six. The Reflection Page will tell you if you can carry more.
