How To Use The Big Blocks Dashboard

Posted by The Perfect Notebook on

Dear Perfect Notebook Users,

Welcome to The Perfect Newsletter!

This tool is here to provide you with tips, tricks, and strategies to make the most out of your notebook and ensure it is really perfect for YOU.

We will begin this series of blogs by reviewing the notebook's foundation for users' success.

The Big Blocks Dashboard

Big blocks are long-term goals that we aim to accomplish. These goals are often professional or personal and take more than one day to achieve such as achieving a promotion or losing weight. The Perfect Notebook breaks these goals into 6 categories: professional goals, fun & recreation, relationships, body time, personal growth, and skill building.

So, how do you go about using them? Open to the first Personal Goals Dashboard page. Consider a goal for each of the 5 categories. For example, for the fun and recreation goal, I chose to spend more time with family. After deciding upon this goal, I choose a focus: prepare a family-style Friday night dinner every week. After that, flip to the Professional Goals Dashboard page. Choose 4 goals for the coming cycle. I chose to develop my website, construct a resume, network with colleagues in my firm, and find a mentor. After writing the 4 goals in the space provided under “Professional Goals”, outline up to five focused ideas for each of them, a more detailed facet of that goal. For example, I aligned my goal of developing a website with the focus of writing a bio and gathering recent images. Then, rate a priority for each focus by designating one to three circles. Do so for all four goals.

Now that you have configured which big blocks you will focus on, the next step is to determine how you will do so. The next blog, daily task manager, will discuss exactly that.

Irrationally yours,
